We have had such a blessed year! We had six beautiful litters of kittens this year. Thankfully all are spoken for except for Kiera's one week olds. We have been abundantly blessed with wonderful homes for our kittens. Thank you all who have provided a wonderful loving home for our babies. Thank you also for the Christmas pictures and kind words. We also had a great year in the showhall and can't wait to "get back to it"...three weeks out of the showhall and I'm having withdrawls. A huge THANK YOU to all of our friends in the Cat Fancy. We have met a lot of wonderful people over the last couple of years. Thank you so very much for your friendship, advice, cats, encouragement, and kindness. My Sianna is a grandma now!! Her daughter, Kiera delivered two adoreable babies yesterday morning. She is a wonderful mother just like Sianna. They weighed 4.1 oz and 2.7 oz. The little one is average weight for Siamese but she looks so small compared to her brother.

Yesterday morning as I was making rounds and picking up breakfast plates, two of Myahs kittens were missing. I looked in all of their normal hiding places but couldn't find them. Before I became worried I heard rustling across the room. They were in the trash can....not sure how they got in there without knocking it over, but they looked very comfy. Thankfully there was nothing in the trash can!

We are very excited about these kittens. They are so cute!! One of the little girls opened her eyes yesterday. These are our first Tortie points. If you're wondering "what is a Tortie point"...here's the CFA description:

The tortie, or parti-colors, are an interesting phenomenon of the hybridization process of the red gene. Shortened to "tortie or cream points," this color class of the Colorpoint Shorthairs are exhibited as the parti-colors. They are memorable representatives of the breed because of their loving yet independent attitudes. The parti-colors are a "by product" of the red gene and come in the four Siamese colors with random mottling or "blotching" of red and/or cream with the basic Siamese color. They often also have what is called a "blaze," a symmetrical split of the red and/or cream on one side of the face mask and the Siamese color, such as seal, on the other half. Indeed, this is a very striking appearance. Because the red color gene is sex linked, tortie or cream parti-color points only come in females. Color descriptions start with the primary Siamese color and add the mottling of red or cream. Thus we have the seal-tortie points, chocolate-tortie points, blue-cream points and lilac-cream points.

Princess decided to have her babies a day early...which was fine. Tyler had been with her on "kitten watch" for a few days. She did a great job and she's a wonderful mother. I'm in love with these kittens!! Not that I don't love all of them....but even at one day old they have the longest little faces and huge folded ears (which will straighten up, of course).

What a fun show!!! I'm so thankful to Bill & Joy Cox for showing their boys, Rhythm and Blues. Rhythm made 2 finals (a 2nd best kitten and a 3rd best kitten). Rhythm and Blues are Jacob and Sianna's sons. Rhythm looks just like his daddy...I think they are going to do very well in Premiership.

My friend Pam came to hang out with me at the show...it was great to see her. I think she enjoyed helping out with the cats. Pam, I hope you can join us in B'ham!!

Melissa, Jessica, and Rachel came down from Chicago. We really had a good time. Jessica is showing a gorgeous tortie lynx point...she got a best kitten and a 2nd best kitten. Go for the RW Jess, Amore is very pretty! Melissa's girl, Bella, granded...and her kitten (Sweetie) out of Myah and Diamond made a couple of finals.

It was really a great show. I forgot my camera:( I think getting up at 3:30am had something to do with that.

Sianna began pushing last night just as I was laying down to go to sleep. That's okay. She did a wonderful job. I tried to do a better job of taking pictures this time...I didn't get very many but I'm pleased with a few of them. In the top picture she's just getting ready to push. The kittens love Tyler! Mardi & Prissy were chillin' on his back this morning before we left the hotel. The kittens didn't make any finals but they travelled and behaved very well. We had a great time. Jimmy had a pretty good show...4th, 7th, 7th, 7th, and 8th. It was fun visiting with our friends. We were able to go out to supper with TGIF club memebers. We had a lot of fun. Where will we go?

I've recently had a lot of questions about how we choose which shows to go to. We really don't plan very far in the future because so many things can happen. We never know what may be going on around here, we're always pretty busy. We consider distance first and judging line up second...that's about it. I'm usually travelling alone in the winter months so weather comes into play for those shows. It's always a great bonus if our friends are going to the same shows.

Wow, we've been so busy with graduation that we haven't updated our blog in a while. Jacob is here and he is such a sweetheart! He snuggles right up to Keith or I every night. Sianna recieved her first rosettes at the Memphis CFA show this past weekend. We're so proud of her. I'm hoping to add a picture of her very first fianl where she recieved 3rd best kitten. Our pictures are on Tylers phone and we're having trouble getting them to the computer. This was our first show without Melissa (our mentor) so we were a little nervous. We were benched around some really nice folks and we had a great time. We did learn a valuable lesson...don't let ANYONE you don't know really well touch your cat.

First Post

We're new at blogging and breeding. We've been wanting to breed siamese for a very long time but our military careers kept things on hold. Now that we are both retired, we're hoping to finally get things going. If everything goes as planned we should have kittens by late 2008 or early 2009. We currently have 2 female siamese...Cajun and Sianna. Cajun is our 5 year old (spay) who further peaked our interest in breeding. She was a birthday present for our youngest son when he turned 9 years old. He loves her and the feeling is mutual. We named her Cajun because we purchased her from a breeder in New Orleans...she's a seal point and really closer to an applehead. Sianna is our 4 1/2 month old baby...we're hoping she'll be our first mama. We were thankful to purchase Sianna from Saroko Cattery in College Station, TX. She's a wonderful addition to our family. Sianna is a blue point. We also had a male Siamese when we first got married (late 80s). His name was Titus...we took him to Okinawa with us and he passed away during the last year of our assignment there.

We are very excited about breeding and showing our kitties. Sianna will be attending her second show in a couple of weeks. We are loving every minute! We'll be getting our male baby in May. He's coming from Pharoahs Gems Cattery. We are so very thankful to Melissa for all her help and advice in getting started. There's no way we would be where we are without her help.
